Finance Ministry asks Election Commission to return Rs 3 billion

Summary The Ministry of Finance sent a letter to the Election Commission of Pakistan.

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - The Ministry of Finance on Monday asked Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to return Rs 3 billion issued for holding of local government elections, Dunya News reported.

On the other hand, the ECP has replied that it has to pay pending amount of General Elections 2013 to the Army and National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).

The ECP stated that Rs 450 million will be paid to Nadra while Rs 310 million will be given to Pak Army.

In a letter writer to ECP, the ministry said pending amount of general election expenditures will be issued separately.
