KARACHI (Dunya News) - A local court in Malir has disposed of the case against FBI agent Joel Cox on Monday.

FBI agent Joel Cox arrived in Karachi on May 1 and was detained on May 5 after officials found him with the ammunition, knives and electronic devices as he was preparing to board a flight to Islamabad. FBI agent Joel Cox was later freed on 1 million rupees ($9,800) bail.

During the course of proceedings, the counsel for Cox produced the letter of US embassy in the court.

The letter stated the embassy employees were permitted to keep weapons for their safety.

The Sindh Home Ministry also confirmed the letter after which the court stated that there was no need to proceed with the case.

The judge ordered to return all his belongings while disposed of the case against Cox.
