Govt to be responsible if Musharraf sent abroad: Prof Ibrahim

Summary Prof Ibrahim said both committees should have a meeting with army chief.

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – One of the members of Taliban negotiating committee Professor Ibrahim said that the dialogue process was underway but the ‘genuine talks’ weren t started as yet.

He made an appeal to Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan to extend ceasefire and stop attacking defense institutions. He said that the army shouldn’t also resort to jet bombardments.

Professor Ibrahim said that the army should stop operation, asserting that both parties should get serious in dialogue process.

Taliban negotiator said both the government and the Taliban committee should have a meeting with army chief, adding that the army should trust the government if they can’t become part of the peace talks.

He clarified that the federal government would be solely responsible if Musharraf was sent abroad.
