(Web Desk) - Sardar Mehtab Abbasi has been appointed as Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa today (Thursday), Radio Pakistan reported.
President Mamnoon Hussain signed the summary for the appointment of Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan as next governor moved by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.
Abbasi is expected to be sworn in later in the day at the Governor House in Peshawar.
On Tuesday morning, leader of opposition in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly Sardar Mehtab Abbasi tendered his resignation as member of the provincial assembly facilitating his appointment as the new governor.
Hailing from Hazara division, Sardar Mehtab had returned to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly from PK-45 Abbotabad-II in the May 11 general elections last year.
