ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Vegetable and fruit shops remained closed in Islamabad farmers’ market to mourn yesterday’s blast, Dunya News reported on Thursday.
Meanwhile, fruit and vegetable supply to different areas of the capital city was suspended.
Protesting traders have demanded from the government to ensure their security.
On the other hand, district administration will take control of the market on Interior Ministry’s directives, whereas, security of the market will be reviewed as well.
Police have arrested more than 30 suspects during search operation in different areas of the city.
According to police, no important development was made during the investigation.
A probe team will be formed to investigate the incident.
Wednesday’s bombing -- the deadliest in Islamabad since a huge truck bomb at the Marriott Hotel in 2008 -- left a 1.5-metre (five-foot) diameter crater and littered the site with body parts and guava fruit drenched in blood.
The blast struck at around 8:00 am (0300 GMT) at the wholesale market near the capital s twin city Rawalpindi, as hundreds of grocers and sellers gathered to trade.
