KARACHI (Dunya News) - Some unknown motorcyclists opened firing on a car near Coast Guard Chorangi killing Anwar Jafri, a crime branch police officer, and injuring his driver.
Rescue teams rushed to the scene and shifted the driver and dead body of Awar Jafri to Jinnah Hospital.
According to police, Anwar Jafri was killed an ambush and two accused were involved in the attack while 9mm pistol was used in the incident.
Colleagues of Anwar Jafri reached Jinnah hospital after the news of the incident.
Jafri had been perform duty as an SHO at different police stations in the city where as he was serving at Crime Branch 2.
In another incident, a guard along with his accomplices looted Rs 8 million from a private bank in Yusuf Plaza area after taking the staff hostage.
According to police, CCTV footage of the incident was safe while search had been launched to arrest the accused after obtaining their data.
On the other hand, a case had been registered against two men namely Chakib and Nadeem who were injured in firing by Rangers on Wednesday.
Police said a case was registered in Site-A police station on the complaint of a Rangers official.
