NOWSHERA (Dunya News) – Banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) committee member Maulana Samiul Haq urged the government and Taliban on Saturday to ceasefire ‘in the name of God’.
Addressing the press in Nowshera, Samiul Haq said that Taliban’s real issue with the government is its siding with imperial forces; claiming that democracy or Shariah are not the key issues.
Samiul Haq also urged the government not to bomb the ‘innocent civilians’ adding that bombing will lead to destruction instead of resolution.
Earlier today, TTP Shura member Azam Tariq Mehsud contacted Professor Ibrahim of the negotiation committee and expressed the desire to continue the dialogue with government. Professor Ibrahim later addressed the press urging the government to establish peace through negotiation.
If government truly enforces the constitution, will make Taliban agree to it, he claimed.
He further said that government is acting stolidly adding that he is only a committee member and not Taliban.
