PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – A case has been registered against Tehreek-e-Taliban Swat for attack on the convoy of PML-N leader Amir Muaqam.

The incident took place in the Martoong area of Swat valley, which the Taliban controlled from 2007-2009, as the convoy of Amir Muqam, an adviser to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, passed through.

Six policemen and two security guards were killed, however, the senior politician remained safe in the incident.

Amir Muqam was travelling in the area with some 15 vehicles in his convoy as part of campaign efforts for local elections.

In the First Information Report (FIR), Zain-ul-Abideen, Hameed and Umar Khan were nominated as accused. The suspected terrorists are wanted in several other terrorism related cases.
