ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - According to Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) authorities, gas supply to industrial and CNG sector was not possible due to cold weather.
The new schedule would take effect from Tuesday at 6am. The gas supply to fertilizers factories would also be suspended.
The Sui Northern authorities said the decision was taken to ensure the provision of gas to domestic consumers.
As per the old schedule, the industrial and CNG sector was getting gas supply two days a week.
Earlier, Ministry of Petroleum forwarded a summary to the PM for approval of gas load management in winter season.
It has been requested in the summary that gas supply should be suspended to all other sectors except domestic consumers, power plants and tandoors during the months of January and February.
The ministry also suggested six-day gas loadshedding in a week during the months of March and May.
Currently, the total supply by Sui Northern and Sui Southern is 3,734 million cubic feet. According to Sui Northern, the shortfall of gas has reached one thousand million cubic feet.
