Musharrf treason case: CJ to nominate 3 judges for hearing

Summary Government has decided to put former military general on trial in treason case.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) Special Court is likely to be announced for hearing of treason case against former military dictator Pervez Musharraf today. Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry would select three judges out of five High Courts for this purpose.

In past, military dictators breached the constitution so many times and later the issues were thrown to winds but this time history has recorded new pattern in the country.

Newly elected government of PML-N has become a plaintiff while the man who ruled over the country more than nine years has become an accused.

Having direction from the Interior Ministry, the Ministry of Law has raised the issue in the apex court for trial of former president Pervez Musharraf and written a letter to the Supreme Court in this regard.

According to letter, the government has decided to form a special court comprising three judges of High Courts in Islamabad.

In this regard, Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has written a letter to chief justices of five High Courts, with the direction to nominate three judges for formation of special court to hear treason case against Pervez Musharraf.
