Summary Abbasi says govt was committed to ensure gas supply to domestic sector in coming winter.
ISLAMABAD (Online) - Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Monday expressed the possibility to cut gas supply to CNG stations and industrial units of Sindh during winter.
Talking to media men on Monday, the federal minister said that government was committed to ensure the gas supply to the domestic sector in coming winter season and in this regard all available resources will be utilized.
He made it clear that gas supply to the CNG sector and industrial units in Punjab will be suspended during December, January and February. The minister said that ministry of petroleum and Natural Resources will utilize all available resources to minimize the gas shortfall in the country.
Talking about Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project, the minister said that government is facing certain difficulties to start construction of this project however it will be raised with the Iranian government.
Due to funding issue and possible sanctions construction on this project is lingering, the minister commented.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that during talks with the Iran government, Pakistan will raise the issue of penalty for delay in construction of the project and gas price. He hoped that after negotiation with Iran difficulties in IP project will be removed.
