ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – In the latest development, the police have informed the prosecutor that the concerned authorities were not cooperating with the investigation team, owing to which Musharraf might get acquitted in judges detention case.
According to confirmed sources, the concerned departments were not facilitating the investigation team, earlier formed to probe the matter pertaining to the sacking and detention of judges during the 2007 emergency imposed by the former military ruler Pervez Musharraf.
Earlier, the investigation team forwarded a formal request to the Supreme Court registrar, cabinet division, information ministry, chief commissioner and Islamabad IG but none of the department has replied as yet.
A letter written to registrar Supreme Court requested to record the statements of the then detained judges and their family while the cabinet division and other departments were asked to provide a copy of the order that followed the imposition of emergency.
The then president Pervez Musharraf might get acquitted if the concerned authorities do not cooperate with the investigation, the sources added.
