Summary The biggest and brightest moon graced the sky on night between Saturday and Sunday.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The beautiful view was witnessed by thousands of people in most parts of the world, including Pakistan during night between Saturday and Sunday.

The phenomenon, known as a perigee full moon, occurs when the Moon reaches its closest point to Earth. Moon appeared up to 14% bigger and 30% brighter.

At its closest, the Moon was 222,000 miles from Earth, compared with 250,000 miles at its farthest point.

The most significant effect of the  supemoon  was high tides at oceans, with scientists dismissing any notion that the phenomenon could cause bizarre behaviour or natural disasters.
