Govt will continue its efforts to stop US drone attacks: FO

Summary The Foreign Office Spokesman said US drone attacks violate Pakistan's territorial sovereignty.

 

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Foreign Office spokesman Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry in his weekly briefing said in Islamabad today (Thursday) that Pakistan has taken the issue of drone attacks with United States at all levels and will continue its efforts to stop them.

 

To a question he said Pakistan fully supports Afghan reconciliation process and all groups to the issue should be involved in this process. He said Pakistan also supports US-Taliban negotiations to bring peace and stability in Afghanistan.

 

He said Pakistan extended all possible assistance to promote reconciliation process in Afghanistan. He said exact figures of Pakistani prisoners at Guantanamo is not known.

 

On the issue of Pak-Iran Gas Pipeline the Spokesman said it will be implemented at all cost to overcome energy crisis in the country.

 

Regarding the visit of US Secretary of John Carry to Pakistan he said it has been postponed not cancelled and new date of visit will be announced soon.
