PESHAWAR (Web Desk) - At least 148 security check-posts have been dismantled in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after improvement of security situation in the restive province.
Authorities said police are ready to take full control of the scenic Swat valley after the military withdrawal.
According to police officials, security check-posts have been removed as law and order situation has improved to a great extent.
The IG Ahsan Ghani said that police bravely faced the worst security situation in Peshawar. He said that police were ready to play an active role in Swat after the withdrawal of troops. “Time has come to dispel the negative perception of the police department. Steps are being taken to change thana culture,” he maintained.
