Summary Siraj also announced to turn off the air conditioner of his office till the end of loadshedding.
PESHAWAR (Web Desk) - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa finance minister Siraj-ul-Haq has said that the KPK government will present tax-free budget.
Addressing a press conference, Siraj said that the provincial ministers would not like Mughal emperors and princes, but they would lead simple life.
“The air conditioner of my office would not be switched on, until load shedding would be abolished from every home of the province”, he added.
Siraj-ul-Haq, who belongs to Jammat-e-Islami (JI), coalition partner of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf in KPK government, said that the Council of Common Interests is constituted by bureaucrats so Nawaz Sharif could not be blamed for it, however, he said that the present government would rectify its mistakes.
He said that a proposal has been presented for reduction of budget of KPK as compared to previous year on which KPK government has requested federation and federal government and Prime Minister for review. Last year Rs 93.2 billion were earmarked for the province and this year instead of increasing the amount, it has been reduced to Rs 84.42 billion.
He said that during last government funds were earmarked for 14 mega projects but only Rs 850 million were issued for one project only andnot even a single penny was released for important projects like Lawari Top Tunnel, Ghushal Garh Bridge and Northern Bypass.
