Summary Police submitted interim investigation report of Badami Bagh tragedy in the Supreme Court.


ISLAMABAD (Dunya News): Three-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry resumed hearings of the incident.

 

The report submitted by City Police Officer (CPO) Muhammad Amlesh Khan stated that when the incident occurred, SP Multan Khan and his force took shelter in a godown. At least 22 persons including Muslims and Christian recorded the statements to police.


According to the statements recorded by the police, local business franchises of Ittehad group and Imaan group were allegedly involved in the incident.

 

Station House Officer (SHO) had the information about tense situation and even he knew the fact that anything could happen at any time, so he arrested the accused, Sawan Masih and put him behind the bars.

 

Report said that blasphemy case has been approved against the accused and FIR has also been registered.

 

Police has arrested 48 people in the accusation of burning the colony.

 

The Court ordered the police to enquire the matter in detail and the court was adjourned for a week.
