Summary MQM counsel says delimitations in Karachi illegal after announcement of election schedule.
KARACHI (Online) - The Sindh High Court Monday issued notices to Election Commission of Pakistan, the federation and the Attorney General on separate petitions filed by Pakistan People’s Party and Muttahid Qaumi Movement against delimitations in Karachi.
MQM counsel Farrog Naseem said in the court that the delimitations in Karachi were illegal after the announcement of election schedule.
He pleaded to the court to declare delimitation exercise as void.
The PPP has also moved the SHC, challenging delimitation of constituencies in Karachi city.
The delimitation is not only against the order of the Supreme Court but also against the law, PPP said in its petition.
