Summary Pakistan has not yet granted Most Favored Nation status to India for trade.

 

ISLAMABAD (Online): The National Assembly was informed on Wednesday that YouTube would be reopened before the end of tenure of this government.


Minister for States and Frontier Regions Abbas Khan Afridi told the House during question hour that Pakistan maintains a Negative List of items for trade with India.

 

He said the elimination of the Negative List after the approval of the Cabinet will culminate into grant of MFC status to India. He said that India has already granted MFN status to Pakistan in 1996.

 

To a question‚ Minister for Railways Haji Ghulam Ahmad Bilour told the House that out of 281 non-functional Diesel Electric Locomotives‚ 250 are being repaired and rehabilitated under different repair plans and projects with the approximate cost of Rs 17 billion.

 

He said projects are expected to be completed within next 3 years subject to availability of funds.

 

Parliamentary Secretary for Interior Rai Mujtaba Kharal informed that action is being taken against the unregistered NGOs and a survey will be conducted to ascertain such NGOs and to take action against them.

 

He was replying to a call attention notice moved by Dr Talat Mahesar and others regarding rampant increase in the number of NGOs working on different issues without registration in Islamabad and other parts of the country.
