KARACHI (Online) - Pakistan has been hit by a massive power outage after two major powerhouses tripped.
The power supply to dozens of cities in Punjab, Sindh and Blochistan was suspended due to a technical fault in the National Power Control System in Islamabad.
Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf took immediate notice of power shutdown across the country and directed Chairman Wapda and Secretary Ministery of Water and Power to remove fault as soon as possible.
According to Ministry of Water and Power, repair work has been started and power supply will be restored soon.
Lahore, Karachi, Hyderabad, Nawabsha, Peshawar, Quetta, Rawalpindi and Islamabad and several other cities plunged into darkness after Mangla and Tarbela and Habco powerhouses tripped.
