Summary Malik says Quetta tragedy could have been averted if Punjab had taken timely action against LeJ.
JAHANIAN (Dunya News) – Talking to media here on Sunday, Interior Minister Rehman Malik said enemies were working to destabilize the country but their nefarious designs would be foiled by forging unity.
He said when Taliban become weak they talk about dialogue; however‚ he said the government would form a strong team to have dialogue with them.
“We don’t want to see suicide vests in the hands of our future generations”, Malik said.
He criticized the Punjab government for not taking proper action against the banned outfits. He said a list of 734 terrorists has been provided to the Punjab government and these people should have been arrested.
Rehman Malik lamented that the Punjab government took only halfhearted action against Lashkar-e-Jhangvi on the information provided by the federal government.
He warned Shahbaz Sharif to stop using indecent language against President Asif Ali Zardari and threatened to use more harsh words against Sharif brothers.
Malik said those who have been criticizing the federal government should explain whether any tender was announced for the construction of metro bus project.
He said he would write a book on petition mafia.
Responding to a question, the interior minister said that heirs of Afzal Guru have not contacted the government so far for the shifting of Afzal Guru’s dead body from India.
