PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Minister Syed Aqil Shah filed a petition in a local court, requesting to stay the proceeding of a fake degree case against Shah.
The court rejected Shah’s plea and ordered to record evidences on January 8.
The Election Commission of Pakistan had declared the bachelor’s degree of Syed Aqil Shah as fake, sending the case to the district and sessions judge for his trial.
Later the Peshawar district and session court indicted Syed Aqil Shah in the case.
Shah, who is a member of the Awami National Party, obtained his graduation degree from Lahore but the institution he graduated from was not yet recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
