Summary Tension between lawyers and judges continues at District Bar Faisalabad.
Seventeen additional judges, forty civil judges and eight judges of special courts have stopped working as a protest against the incident of shoe-throwing on a local judge. The poor clients are suffering the most due to the situation. Five thousand cases are heard at Faisalabad courts daily, besides the two thousand cases at the special courts. Judges are firm that they will not resume their work till the registration of case against the lawyer, involved in the incident. On the other hand local lawyers have announced that they would defend their colleague at every cost. A lawyer Ch Maqsood Ahmad on Saturday (May, 5) hurled a shoe at an additional district and sessions judge in Faisalabad while reacting to a “verdict against his wish”.
