Giving a statement in the National Assembly, the Law Minister said the Prime Minister never ridiculed the judiciary but Thursdays judgement contains reference to ridicule of the court.He said the Prime Minister appeared before the apex court thrice which itself speaks about his respect for the judiciary.The Minister said the Supreme Court decision has not disqualified the Prime Minister from being member of the Parliament. He said Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani is still the Prime Minister and will remain the Prime Minister of Pakistan.He said the Prime Minister has never ridiculed or defame the judiciary and never questioned the integrity of the judiciary.Farooq Naek said under the leadership of Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani 18th and 19th Amendments were passed making the Constitution more democratic.He said appeal against the Supreme Court judgement has to be filed after the receipt of detailed judgement‚ which is continuation of the judicial proceedings.Leader of the Opposition Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan has said the objective of the policy statement by the Law Minister is to politicize the on Thursdays Supreme Court judgement.He said the Parliament has not to decide the judicial cases as there are other important issues which need to be discussed in the Parliament.He said we do not want to politicize the issue because the judicial judgement and decision are not discussed in the Parliament. He said the Prime Minister should defend his case in the court and not in the Parliament.He said in line with democratic norms the Prime Minister should resign from his post and prove his innocence before the Court and then come back to the Parliament. He said at that time we all will welcome him warmly.The opposition members also raised slogans Go Gilani Go.The house has now been adjourned to meet again on Friday morning.
