Struggling for supremacy of Constitution: Zardari

Talking to Dunya News, the President said that PPPs struggle was not a struggle for its own interest, rather it was for the sake of the country.Earlier today, a high level meeting of Pakistan People’s Party leadership was held at the presidency to review the situation emerging after the conviction of Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani.The PPP leaders said that an elected Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani was punished for his efforts for the supremacy of law and the Constitution.According to a statement issued by the President House, participants of meeting felicitated the prime minister for sticking with the Constitution with “courage and prestige” .The statement said that the participants regretted the Supreme Court orders. They also applauded Senator Aitzaz Ahsan for his services.The meeting decided to cope with the new challenges by Constitutional means.
