Summary Joint Parliament has accorded approval to PCNS recommendations, allowing re-engagement with US.

Earlier, the PM said on the flolor of the house that it is the time to re-engage with US with dignity and self-respect.PM said PCNS recommendations approved by parliament would be implemented in true spirit.Yousaf Raza Gilani said that it would be made possible with the support of the parliament.He said that the government is weak without support of the parliament.He said that sovereign, independent and autonomous Afghanistan is in best national interest of Pakistan.He said that it is first time in the history of Paksitan that foreign policy has been discussed in the parliament.Giving reference to meeting with US President Obama, I told him that Pakistan would never compromise on sovereignty.The PM said several key security paradigms were re-visited in the current era. Shamsi airbase was vacated under which government, he said referring to the closure of the base after the Salala check posts attacks.While putting recommendations of PCNS in the parliament, PCNS head Raza Rabbani said that there would be no compromise on the national interests as all political parties have expressed their consensus on the issue of national prestige.The 14-point recommendations‚ presented by Chairman of the Committee Mian Raza Rabbani in the session on Thursday evening‚ envisage that relationship with the United States should be based on mutual respect for the sovereignty‚ independence and territorial integrity of each other.It said that the US footprint in Pakistan must be reviewed. This would mean an immediate cessation of drone attacks inside Pakistan‚ the cessation of infiltration into Pakistani territory on any pretext‚ including hot pursuit; and Pakistani territory including its air space shall not be used for transportation of arms and ammunition to Afghanistan.He said that attack on Salala check post was diametrically violation of international law and the US should not only seek apology on this issue but the military officers involved in this conspiracy must be brought to justice.He said that no verbal agreements would be made with the US, adding that all the verbal accords with the US made in past have come to an end.Pakistan is determined to exterminate extremism and terrorism in the region but there would be no compromise on atomic assets, he concluded.He said that no airbase in the country would be allowed to be used for transportation of ammunition.
