This he said while addressing at a reception arranged in honour of lawyers at the Governor’s House, Lahore. He said that lawyers always played an active and pivotal role in defending democracy and democratic institutions in the country and that the present government will continue to extend full cooperation and facilitation to them in the pursuit of their professional duties.The president also announced a two-member committee to look into the problems faced by the lawyer community. The lawyers also backed Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani’s stance of not going against the constitution of the country.
