PM orders end to loadshedding in 24 hours

On the PMs call, Minister for Water and Power Naweed Qamar announced not to recover surcharges on electricity bills.According to a statement from the PM House, the Prime Minster, while taking notice of the crucial situation, has directed to bring the situation in control on a priority basis.PM Yousaf Raza Gilani is on his visit to South Korea for participation in Atomic Energy Conference. He also has ordered the related ministry to report him after implementation on the order.Naveed Qamar said that 9,500 MW electricity was being generated in the country, adding that some of power plants became out of order, causing tremendous problems for people.The situation would normal as the stagnant plants start to work and come in working order, he assured.He said that NAPRA has imposed surcharge of back months in the same bill. But new procedure would be introduced for recovery of surcharges.
