Dushanbe summit: Zardari urges regional cooperation

Summary President Asif Zardari has said that regional cooperation can help Stabilize Afghanistan.

He was addressing the 5th quadrilateral summit of Pakistan‚ Iran‚ Afghanistan and Tajikistan in Dushanbe‚ Tajikistan on Monday.The Presidentsaid this is time to work collectively to address the regional issues.He saiddespite limited resources Pakistan is helping in restructuring of Afghanistan. He said Pakistan is also providing scholarships to Afghan students.Earlier‚ opening the Summit Tajik President Emomali Rahmon urged for removing all sort of blockades in the way of development in Afghanistan. He said each possible effort would be made to develop human resources in Afghanistan including education and achieving economic development through building infrastructure.The Summit is focusing on the process of implementation of the decisions and commitments made during the Fourth Conference in Istanbul‚ defining priority directions and projects.It will also elaborate concrete recommendations and proposals to strengthen regional and international cooperation for the development of Afghanistan and of the region. Afghan President Hamid Karzai and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad are also attending the summit.
