Summary It is the first time when a Picasso painting has been put on a public display in Palestine.
The Painting is being displayed at the International Academy of Art, in the West Bank city of Ramallah.The painting, Buste de Femme, which Pablo Picasso painted in 1943 when he lived in Nazi-occupied Paris is usually hung at the Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven in the Netherlands. Its value is estimated at $7 million and it was lent to the Palestinian gallery for one month.The 39 inch tall and 31 inch wide painting was a cubist depiction of a woman.Organisers of the exhibition said the painting was brought from Amsterdam to Tel Aviv and from where it was transported to Ramallah.
