Summary A seminar regarding promotion of Technical Education and Vocational Training was held in Islamabad.
In order to create awareness among general public and stakeholders for the promotion of Technical Education and Vocational Training (TEVT) Punjab Board of Technical Education and TVET arranged one day seminar here on Monday.
More than 100 participants including Owners / Senior faculty members of private sectors’ TVET institutions and other high officials of PBTE were present at the seminar.
This seminar which was co-financed by the European Union, the Kingdom of Netherlands and Federal Republic of Germany (of the Series of Three Seminars) with the aim to create awareness among general public and stakeholders for the promotion of Technical Education in the Potohar region of Punjab.
During the seminar, TVET experts threw light over different prevailing hurdles in the promotion of TVET and suggested means to redress them.
All the TVET experts had consensus that TVET is the basic engine for bringing revolution of fast economic development in the country.
Shah Rukh Nusrat, Director General (P & D) NAVTTC who was the Chief Guest of the seminar, said that the task for the promotion of TVET in the country can be achieved only with the collective wisdom and united efforts of all stakeholders. Qazi Farid from GIZ also gave presentation over key challenges in TVET and Labour Market.
Earlier, Chairman Punjab Board of Technical Education (PBTE) Dr. Muhammad Shafique while welcoming all the participants of the seminar, said that the basic purpose of holding of seminar, is to create awareness about TVET promotion and its significance among the Technical & Vocational Institutes and Colleges in the Potohar Region.
He said that second seminar would be held on 27th of this month in Multan while the 3rd will be held on December 03 in Lahore. Holding of these seminars highlight the PBTE management’s dedicated and selflessness efforts for the promotion of TEVT in the Punjab which is inevitable for creating workable force that ensures economic development and poverty alleviation in the country, he added.
