LAHORE (Dunya News) – A lawyer in Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday assisted his client to escape after bail dismissal.
The suspect Shafique Ahmed appeared before the judge along with his lawyer.
The lawyer adopted stance that the police has registered a baseless and bogus fraud case against his client which is based upon personal enmity.
Police presented the suspect’s case record before the court. The prosecutor opposed the bail plea and clarified that the case has not been registered on personal enmity rather the suspect is involved in a fraud activity.
The court after reviewing the case record dismissed the bail plea.
The police tried to arrest the suspect when he came out of the court however; the lawyer prevented the detention by saying that no one can be taken into custody in the court premises.
The suspect while taking advantage of the situation fled from the court while the police stood there as silent spectators.
Suspects have numerous times escaped from the court premises before after their bail gets rejected.
Such incidents happen frequently either single-handedly or by the help of the lawyers.
