(Web Desk/AFP) – England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced on Thursday that cricketers Ben Stokes and Alex Hales have been suspended from international cricket over their involvement in brawl outside a Bristol nightclub.

Ben Stokes will not be considered for England international matches "until further notice", ECB said in its official statement.

The ECB s move came hours after video footage was released by the Sun newspaper which appeared to show Stokes fighting outside a Bristol nightclub.

The Test vice-captain was included in England s Ashes squad announced Wednesday, despite injuring his hand in the incident that led to his arrest in Bristol on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm.

The 26-year-old was released without charge on Monday, but remains under investigation. In the video posted by the Sun, which headlined its front-page splash  Hit for Six , Stokes appears to be fighting with two men, one of whom is holding a bottle. He is now doubtful for the for the Ashes tour of Australia.

Former English star batsman commented on the matter using social media. He said, "How are they reporting that Alex Hales is trying to be the peace maker here? He REPEATEDLY KICKS the guy in the head on the ground?! He should come out of this worse IMO!"
