NEPRA took notice of the extra charges received by KESC which received millions of rupees from the consumers under Fuel Adjustment process. In inquiry, KESC admitted its mistake.NEPRA, in a letter written to KESC, pointed that it violated the decision of NEPRA and sent over-charged bills to the consumers which were against the law.NEPRA had permited KESC to receive surcharge in the head of FUEL Adjustment process’s extra expenditures during the period of July 2009 toMarch 2010 .It permitted to charge till June 2010 to December 2010.Taking notice of the consumers’ plea, NEPRA ordered KESC to return surcharged amount.NEPRA accepted its mistake and promised to return the amount. NEPRA also ordered KESC to return the consumers this month’s surcharged amount.
