The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Thursday cut the electricity tariff by 58 paisas per unit. NEPRA sources said the authority approved the decrease under the monthly fuel price adjustment formula. New prices will be implemented for electricity distribution companies for the month December 2010. The authority also sent a copy of said notification to the government. The NEPRA would hear the case of price decrease in Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) tariff on February 1.
