The incident, which left the doctor visibly distressed, drew strong condemnation from social media users, opposition parties, and Muslim leaders, who termed it unethical and an attack on women’s dignity and religious freedom. Political leaders from AIMIM, Congress, and Rashtriya Janata Dal questioned Kumar’s conduct and intent, warning that such acts promote intolerance toward hijab and women’s personal choice, despite there being no official ban on hijab or niqab in Bihar.
