LAHORE (Dunya News) - Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Friday congratulated the nation on Independence Day and called on every Pakistani to renew their commitment to playing a meaningful role in the country’s development.

She also praised the martyrs and veterans who made sacrifices for the creation, development and defence of Pakistan.

Maryam also paid tribute to the Pakistan Armed Forces and soldiers serving along the country’s borders to protect the homeland.

She extended Independence Day greetings to teachers, students, workers, labourers and people from all walks of life.

The chief minister said the government was committed to providing future generations with a better and safer Pakistan. She urged citizens to fulfill their responsibilities, saying that if everyone contributed to the nation in their own capacity, the entire country could prosper.

Maryam said sincerity and a sense of responsibility were the true expressions of patriotism. She described Independence Day as an opportunity for the younger generation to renew its commitment to the country’s future.
