Summary Pakistan Railways will restore the Babu Passenger from August 20 and Sandal Express from August 21, with Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi promising more train revivals this year.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi has announced the restoration of two suspended Pakistan Railways train services, saying the decision was made in response to strong public demand and in the interest of the railway network.

Pakistan Railways will resume the Babu Passenger and Sandal Express services after a gap of several years.

The Babu Passenger train, operating between Lahore and Lala Musa, will resume service on August 20, while the Sandal Express, running from Multan to Sargodha via Jhang, will be restored from August 21.

Both train services had been suspended during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hanif Abbasi said the decision to restore the trains was taken following repeated requests from passengers and in the best interest of Pakistan Railways. He added that more train services would be revived later this year and that passenger facilities would also be improved in line with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's vision.
