PDMA forecasts rain, drizzle and snowfall across Punjab from December 20, warning of slippery roads in Murree and Galliyat, urging caution and emergency preparedness.
LAHORE (Duny News) - Punjab’s Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has warned of rain and snowfall in Murree, Rawalpindi and several other districts from December 20, following the entry of a western weather system.
The PDMA said rain and thunderstorms are expected in the Potohar region, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Layyah and Galliyat till December 21, while drizzle may occur in Lahore and many central Punjab cities on December 20 and 21. Snowfall could lead to slippery roads and possible closures in Murree and Galliyat from December 20 to 22.
Tourists have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel, while district administrations have been directed to ensure emergency preparedness, including deployment of Rescue 1122 teams. Smog and fog conditions are expected to persist in central and northern Punjab.
