Lahore ranks second among world's most polluted cities

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Air pollution across Punjab has intensified, with Lahore once again ranking second among the world’s most polluted major cities, according to an international environmental monitoring website. India’s capital, New Delhi, tops the list with an AIQ level of 424.
The provincial capital recorded an alarming Air Quality Index (AQI) of 329, placing it in the “hazardous” category and posing serious health risks for millions of residents.
The situation is equally severe in other Punjab cities. Faisalabad registered the highest pollution levels in the province with its AQI reaching 542, indicating extremely toxic air conditions. Gujranwala followed with an AQI of 398, while Rawalpindi recorded 352
Condition in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is not different from Punjab as Peshawar AQI reaching 325, significantly above safe limits defined by global health standards.
