ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Interior Ministry has stated that Pakistani citizens must still satisfy immigration authorities at airports even if they possess a valid visa.
According to the ministry, travellers who fail to convince immigration officials regarding their purpose and arrangements for travelling abroad may be off-loaded, despite having visas.
The ministry clarified that these measures are being taken to protect Pakistan’s image globally, noting that some individuals obtain visas for countries like Senegal and then attempt to cross illegally from there.
The statement added that immigration officials will check travellers’ return tickets, hotel bookings, and bank statements.
It is worth mentioning that reports of Pakistani passengers being off-loaded at airports have been circulating recently, with related posts going viral on social media.
