Sindh Home Department declares viral Karachi security alert notification fake
Sindh Home Department rejected a viral security alert about Karachi as fake, urging the public and media to avoid sharing unverified social media information.
KARACHI (Dunya News) - The Sindh Home Department has declared a security alert notification circulating on social media regarding Karachi as fake and baseless.
According to the Interior Minister’s office, reports and viral posts claiming an increase in threat levels from November 12 to 30 were fabricated and falsely attributed to the department. Officials confirmed that no such alert or advisory had been issued under the department’s authority or any of its affiliated law enforcement agencies.
In a clarification, the Sindh Home Department stressed that all legitimate security advisories and alerts are only released through official government channels or authorized law enforcement bodies. Any other documents, letters, or messages in circulation should be treated as false and misleading.
The department urged the public and media to refrain from spreading unverified information on social media and to rely solely on official sources for security-related updates.
