ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The government has decided to launch ‘Vision Pakistan 2047’ on August 12 as a major step toward achieving the target of a trillion-dollar economy and ensuring long-term economic growth and development.
According to sources in the Prime Minister’s Office, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will formally launch the ‘Vision Pakistan 2047’ programme, which will introduce a long-term framework for strengthening the country's economy, development and sustainable economic growth.
Sources said the vision will include special programmes aimed at providing the younger generation with opportunities for sustainable economic growth, prosperity and innovation.
The government has also decided to align the Ministry of Planning’s Uraan Pakistan Plan with Vision Pakistan 2047. In this regard, the Prime Minister’s Office has sought targets for Vision Pakistan 2047 from all ministries and relevant institutions.
All ministries have been directed to provide strategic targets, reforms and a long-term development agenda for the vision.
The plan will also include targets related to national development, economic transformation, human capital development and technology.
The government has further directed that goals related to climate sustainability and governance reforms should also be incorporated into Vision Pakistan 2047.
