KARACHI (Dunya News) — Gold and silver prices surged to historic levels on Wednesday, marking an unprecedented milestone in both local and international markets.
In Pakistan, the price of 24-karat gold jumped by a record Rs21,100 per tola, reaching an all-time high of Rs551,662. The price of 10 grams of gold also rose sharply by Rs18,090, climbing to a new peak of Rs472,961.
Silver prices followed a similar upward trend, with 24-karat silver increasing by Rs271 per tola to reach a record Rs11,911 across the country.
On the international market, precious metals also set new benchmarks. The price of gold surged by $211 per ounce, hitting a historic high of $5,293, while silver rose by $2.71 per ounce to reach $114.36.
Analysts attributed the sharp rise to global economic uncertainty, strong investor demand for safe-haven assets, and currency market volatility.
