Petrol prices likely to drop for second fortnight of January 2026

Pakistan plans to reduce petroleum prices from January 16 due to global oil price drop. Petrol may drop by Rs 4.59, diesel by Rs 2.70, and kerosene by Rs 1.82. Notification expected soon.
(Web Desk) – Pakistan is expected to reduce petroleum product prices starting January 16 amid a global decline in crude oil prices.
Reports suggest a potential decrease of Rs4.59 per liter for petrol, Rs2.70 for high-speed diesel, Rs 1.82 for kerosene oil, and Rs 2.08 for light diesel oil.
OGRA has completed its calculations for the price adjustment and will send the recommendations to the Petroleum Division on January 14.
The financial notification will be issued after holding consultation with the Ministry of Finance and seeking approval from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
In previous fortnightly review, the federal government had also announced a reduction in petroleum prices effective 1st January 2026.
High Speed Diesel (HSD) saw a decrease of Rs8.57 per litre, bringing the new price down from Rs265.65 to Rs257.08. Motor Spirit (MS), commonly known as petrol, had been reduced by Rs10.28 per litre, from Rs263.45 to Rs 253.17.
