Summary US Defence Secretary Leon Panetta met with Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on Monday.
US Defence Secretary called on Indonesian President Susilo and discussed with him the bilateral ties. Indonesia is Panettas first stop in his first Asia tour, which will also include Japan and South Korea.Panetta has had bilateral talks with his Indonesian counterpart Purnomo Yusgiantoro on the sidelines of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Defense Ministers Meeting that held in resort island of Bali.He also joined a meeting involving 10 defence ministers in the region. On the last day of his visit he closed bilateral talks with Yudhoyono.The United States is looking to build military ties with Indonesia. Panetta is due to depart for Japan later on Monday.
