Summary Clashes between troops and deserters killed four soldiers in Syria on Thursday.
The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the security forces had attacked villages in Idlib province, near the Turkish border.Four soldiers were killed and a number of civilians killed or wounded in fighting this morning between the Syrian army and deserters in the Idlib village of Jabal al-Zawiya, it said.Analysts have warned that the unrest in Syria, which began in mid-March as peaceful protests against President Bashar al-Assads autocratic rule, is becoming increasingly armed in response to the relentless gunning down by security forces of protesters in major cities and towns.
