The student and government leaders are about to sit down for long-awaited negotiations as tens of thousands of protesters challenge police in the streets.Both sides are angry over unmet demands, but they have decided to begin talks anyway inside the education ministry.Students keep protesting despite police water cannons and tear gas, saying as many as 100,000 young people are marching in Santiago.Student leader Camila Vallejo says theyll go ahead with the talks despite little confidence the government will address their concerns.President Sebastian Pinera has said that they must return to class or lose their scholarships and place in school.
