Summary Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper termed Islamic extremism as the greatest danger for Canada.
While giving an interview to an American TV channel CBC, he said that after ten years of 9/11, Canada is safe and secure. Al-Qaida’s end is at a step but ‘Islamic extremism’ is the greatest danger, he stated.He said the disputed law banned in 2007 would have to be implemented once again. According to Anti-Terrorism Act, Police were delegated extensive power in order to eliminate extremisms and terrorism from the country.He said the above-said laws were formed but not properly implemented, adding that it seemed that they would have to be implemented once again for supremacy of law and order.It is worth mentioning that the Liberal Party had opposed reimplementation of these laws in 2007.
