Summary Prince William and his wife Kate visited a museum in Canadian capital Ottawa.
William and Kate followed in the footsteps of a long line of royal couples who have shoveled earth on to tiny saplings as a living memento of their visit to the Commonwealth country.Queen and her husband Prince Philip, Prince Charles and Princess Diana had also planted a tree when they visited Canada.Later, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge met with veterans, war brides and their families at a reception at the Canadian War Museum.
